- William was probably brought 1630 in the fleet with Winthrop by his aunt Elizabeth, wife of Ephraim Child. He bought the farm of Rev. John Knowles that king purchased of Capt. William Jennison. Was often Representative in the Colony days. He was in the Council of Safety during the insurrection against Andros, and first Speaker of the House after the new Charter. [7]
