  • Notes
    • Edward came with his father Philip Drinker. He was a potter, constable 1652. He removed to Boston and was one of the founders of the First Baptist Church in Boston in 1663. He was a Lieutenant in Philip's War of Captain Turner's Company, though in his history of the Baptists, Backus shows that the bigotry of the day refused him as unworthy of such command in the first year of the war. He preached in 1678 to the humble congregation in Boston. [3]
