  • Notes
    • During the actions at Blackburn Ford, VA on July 18, 1861 in the First Bull Runn Campaign, Corporal Cross's regiment was driven back by Confederate forces. He refused to retreat with the rest of his unit, and returned fighting to the skirmish line despite obvious danger. He was awarded a CMOH for this act in 1898. [2]
