- Samuel enlisted in the Revolutionary war when only 16, and stood on tip-toes to stand muster. His father enlisted to take care of him. His father returned home and died before the war ended. After Samuel enlisted, Esq. Benjamin Eastman said to him that if he lived to come home he might have his choice of his daughters for a wife, and he chose Eunice. He resided in Granby and Chester, MA.
