- Martin was one of the "Early Settlers" of St. Paul / Minneapolis, MN. Martin was the man who raised the american flag at the battle at Chapultapec, Mexico during the Mexican War. There is a main boulevard that runs paralell to the Mississippi river in the St. Paul / Minneapolis cities that is named for Martin - Kellogg Boulevard.
